American Legion Scholarship
Requirements: Vo-tech, 2year, 4 year college/university
Application process: Submit application, data sheet, transcript, and two recommendations. No interview required.
Applicants' parents, grandparents, aunt, or uncle must be a member of the American Legion.
On the application, list the parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle that is the member of the American Legion, or the application will not be accepted.
The award is for a total of $200 the first semester.

Brianna Linin Memorial Scholarship
Criteria for Recipients:
Applicant must be a senior graduating from Goodland High School. (Foreign Exchange Students are not eligible to apply.)
Applicant must be eligible to attend any U.S. accredited post-secondary school.
Applicant should provide letters of recommendations from the following: a teacher (current/past), a church leader, and a club/civic leader.
Applicant should display strong characteristics in one or more areas including leadership, community/church service, extra-curricular school activities, or employment.

Clark Bair Memorial Scholarship
For a high school senior who plans to obtain a Bachelor of Sciences Degree, with enrollment to begin in the fall after high school graduation.
Application process:
Provide a brief (no longer than 500 word) essay describing your interest in the sciences and the majors you are considering.
Fill out the General Application form.
Provide at least three Recommendation Letters.
Include a transcript with application.
The award is $2,000 over a 1 year period: $1,000 each semester, to be disbursed upon receipt of proof of enrollment.

Grace Detmer Scholarship
This scholarship of $500 is offered in memory of Grace E. Detmer who set up a special scholarship fund for graduating students of Sherman County Community High School (Goodland High School) in Goodland, Kansas. The applicant must meet the following qualifications to be eligible for the scholarship.
1. Be a graduate of Goodland High School
2. Be a member of a Methodist Church
3. Plan to study for a vocation in Ministry, Health Care, or Education
The scholarship may be awarded to a person accepted to attend a college or technical school at any year after high school graduation, and one may apply up to twice per person.

Goodland NEA Scholarship
Scholarship provided by the members of the National Education Association Goodland Chapter to a student interested in becoming a teacher. The scholarship is funded through the association’s efforts and will vary each year.
Requirements: Applicant must be a graduating senior from Goodland High School pursuing a degree in elementary or secondary education.
Application Process: Fill out the NEA-Goodland Scholarship application here. Include data sheet or provide information on the scholarship application form, transcripts, two recommendations, and a completed one page essay using the following prompt: (Why is it important to me to become a teacher and how do I want to make a difference in my future students?).

Goodland Kiwanis Club Scholarship
Requirements: Technical College, 2 year, 4 year college/university

Preference will be given to applicants whose parents and/or grandparents are members in good standing of the Goodland Kiwanis Club and participate in Club projects, to students who have participated in the Goodland Kiwanis Flag Project and Goodland Kiwanis Freedom Fest and Fair Shack, and to students who are willing to assist during 2024 in the Flag Project, Freedom Fest, and Fair Shack.

Yvonne Kafka Memorial Scholarship
The family of Yvonne Kafka founded and directs the Yvonne Kafka Christian Fund, Inc. (YKCF). This non-profit corporation awards the Yvonne Kafka Memorial Scholarships. These scholarships are for study at a four-year college or university. The YKCF directors establiished criteria for selection of student to be the recipients of the Yvonne Kafka Memorial Scholarships.

Derrick Joseph Lutters Memorial Scholarship
First preference goes to a Goodland High School graduate pursuing an education in an aeronautically related field at an accredited school. Other vocations will be considered.
Requirements: Minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0) with community or volunteer service background.
Application process: Fill out application, estimate of expenses, data sheet, transcript, no interview required, two letters of recommendation, recent photograph.
The scholarship is for one yearly award of $500. The award check will be made out to the recipient and the school after the recipient has confirmed his/her enrollment and met all other criteria. Merit and financial need preferred.

Must be planning to attend a Motorcycle Mechanic Course at a tech School or college.

Sherman County Attorney Diversion Fund Scholarship
Priority will be given to those students whose educational goals are related to law enforcement, or legal education. However, ALL students regardless of goals are encouraged to apply. (High school students only) If the scholarship recipient has any conduct questioning his or her character, the scholarship may not be awarded.

Sherman County Conservation District Scholarship
Requirements: Vo-tech, 2 year, 4 year college/university.
Must be a resident of Sherman County and pursue a career in an agricultural related field.

Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary Local Scholarship
Requirements: Student must be a child or grandchild related to an honorably discharged veteran or currently serving service member.

VFW State Endowment Scholarship
Requirements: Open to children and grandchildren of Veterans of Foreign Wars and it's Auxiliary members. The parents or grandparents may belong any VFW Post or Auxiliary in the state of Kansas.
Application process: The scholarship is for $500 - $2,000.00. Students attending technical schools are also encouraged to apply. Students who are in college or going back for retraining are also eligible to apply.

Patriotic Art Scholarship given by the VFW Auxiliary.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States.
Maximum student age of 18 at time of local entry.
Student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
Applicant does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary.
What is the Scholarship Amount?
The first-place winner from each state competes for national awards totaling $31,000.
What are the Scholarship Submission Requirements?
Two-dimensional art must be on canvas or paper. Watercolor, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen, ink, oil, marker or other media taught may be used.
Do not frame two-dimensional pieces.
Submit canvas entries on a stretcher frame or canvas board. Other entries must be
matted in white. Do not use color mats. Reinforce the back with heavy paper. Mounted and floating mats may also be used.The art should be no smaller than 8” x 10” but no larger than 18” x 24”, not including mat.
Three dimensional art can be paper, papier-mâché, pottery, clay, metal work, fabric, etc.
Pieces should be no larger than 18” in any direction.
Art cannot be more than 5 lbs. in weight.
Digital art, photography and jewelry are NOT ACCEPTED.

Submit a typed explanation of patriotism expressed in art (250 words or less).
